I stumbled over one of the most interesting portfolio sites recently. Check out the site of Noah Earle. His presentation is unobtrusive, elegant with some cool Flash stuff and his text is getting to the point and comes very diligent.

As a photography enthusiast this tool comes pretty handy. Flickr Leech uses the Flickr API to provide us with an overwhelming number of thumbs (see pic).
